LIFE INSURANCE
Term Life Insurance
Term life insurance provides coverage for a defined period and is often the simplest way to buy a larger death benefit for a temporary need.
How Term Life Works
You choose a death benefit and a term length. If the insured dies while the policy is in force, the policy pays the death benefit to the beneficiaries subject to the contract. Most term policies do not build cash value.
What to Consider Before You Choose
- Choose a term that matches the years the financial need is expected to last.
- Compare the death benefit you need with the premium you can comfortably maintain.
- Review conversion options if keeping the ability to move into permanent coverage later matters to you.
- Do not cancel existing coverage until replacement coverage is fully issued and in force.
Who Often Considers Term Life
Term life can fit people focused on income replacement, mortgage protection, children, business obligations or another need that is expected to decline or end over time.
